Meeting called to
order 9:05a.m. by
Alan Crosby at Raytheon Woodchipers Clubhouse.
Financial report submitted by Treasurer Terry Glover –
Available Balance $1,314.82
Motion by Sam Scalzo & 2nd
by Dennis Minikel to approve the November meeting minutes as published.
Motion carried.
23 members and 4 guests were present. (Lydia Winkler, Herb's wife; Ken Green, guest
of John Cook; Beau Alexander, guest of Bob and Deane Erickson)
The 50/50 ($42.00) won by Chuck Margeson.
The Bring Back: (4-piece cedar reindeer centerpiece decoration, made by Alan Crosby for Cathy Addison) was won by John Cook.

Toy Project: Frank
Pickett reported 1,191 toys have been turned in to date.

No change on the Safety Law yet. It seems that enforcement will commence in
February, 2010.
NEW
BUSINESS:

Thanks to: committee members: bob erickson,
ivan hanna, jim koewn,
clem mclay, and denise omdahl who
made numerous phone calls and did considerable research to try to locate a site
for our meetings

THANKS
ALSO TO KEN TOWER, who met with representatives of Flowing Wells School. They have
agreed to let us use their woodshop at 3725 North Flowing Wells Road for our
monthly meetings.

Motion by Cathy Addison, 2nd
by Paul Swane to accept the offer of the school's facilities. All members in
favor. Motion passed.
Discussion
was held again regarding liability insurance under AAW. Desert Woodcrafters has a certificate of
liability insurance by Travelers, under the American Association of
Woodturners. (AAW provides the insurance
for members). All Desert Woodcrafters
Association members are strongly encouraged to join AAW.

Club
dues in the amount of $25.00 for 2010 are due January 1, 2010. Please give your payment to Terry Glover,
Treasurer.

Christmas Party with SAZWA will be on
December 19, 2009 at 655 N Craycroft.

Frank Pickett – Turned spinning tops (two of them were made by Bonnie Klein)
Chuck Margeson – Turned rice bowl and chop sticks (Bolivian mahogany & bloodwood/ finished with four coats of salad oil)
Bob Williams – Aspen & poplar coffee mugs (stainless)
Alan Crosby– Two-piece turkey centerpiece. Curly Koa pens. Mesquite coasters with case.
Sam Scalzo – Five-piece Nativity scene (made many for a Church project.) Two small snowmen (Pear wood & Juniper)
Dennis Minikel– Bent fork spinner on turned Ironwood stand.
Motion by Bob Erickson, 2nd by Terry Glover to
have next meeting on January 2, 2010. No votes in
favor. (this is New Year weekend)

SATURDAY. JANUARY 16TH, 2010 instead, and return to the regular schedule of
the first Saturday of the month, beginning in February. MOTION CARRIED
