Meeting Minutes – Desert Woodcrafters Association – April 5, 2008

Alan Crosby, President, called the meeting to order at 9:07 a.m. at the Raytheon Woodchippers clubhouse. 21 members and 4 guests (Greg Holton, John Zeluff, Jim Beaman and Denise Olmdahl) - were in attendance. Minutes for March 1, 2008 were approved as published.

The 50/50 ($27.00) was won by Alan Crosby.

Show & Tell - 13 members participated and Alan Crosby won the drawing. His income from attending meetings might require us to withhold taxes.

Woodworking challenges / solutions:

Merle Watts had a turning problem for which Jim Beaman had a solution which he explained after the meeting.

Respect your woodworking tools – they can cause serious injury. Keep safety upmost in mind.

New business:

· Motion to approve payment of bill for wheels and axles made by Clark McClain; passed.

· New membership lists from Terry Glover.

· Reminder to keep our meeting room cleaner; library will change.

· The Pima County fair will be held April 17-20. Call Jim Beaman if you wish to help him at the Old Pueblo Building.

· Auction May 17 at Jim Beaman’s house.

The meeting adjourned at 10:00.

Demo – A CPR class was held in place of a woodworking demo this time. Thanks to Terry Glover for setting it up.
